this sound picture of a moment happened today at Oktaven Audio in Mount Vernon or what felt to me like the magic mountain room up there - with Drew Gress on bass (and modular system) and Devin Gray on drums... Jeremy Loucas in charge of the sound. myself on piano, Chinese gongs and compositions. (special thanks to Ryan and Nathan at the studio)
what a joy it is to play your best or re-imagine the best you have ever played before, and really make it happen even further, taking it beyond that level by assuming risks and making assertive choices. deep/ for real. discipline and hard work do bring their fruits making life truly meaningful. this today actually happened, a 10 hr outstanding recording session at this incredible studio with the best piano I have ever had the chance to play... an absolute blast to make music besides with incredible human beings a 110% engaged during the whole process. the making, preparation and special caring of this trio recording have made me feel proud and grateful today of being who I am, a pianist and a musician. and by it carrying the mission of engaging in music with other people, making that connection happen and feeling just alive. today literally made my year and 2019 already. looking forward to the next step or level. now the composition process is finished and I do have the best possible picture of it. life is good. -
